Space Environment Summary

During the past 24 hours, solar activity was low. Seven active sunspot regions were on the visble disk without M-class flare produced. Due to the continuous effect of the recurrent coronal hole high speed stream, the solar wind speed increased to about 730 km/s. The geomagnetic field reached minor storm levels for 3 hours, active levels for 21 hours.

Space Environment Forecast

Within the next three days, solar activity is expected to be low to moderate. The geomagnetic field is expected to reach active levels on 13-14 Oct due to the continuous effect of the recurrent coronal hole high speed stream. Due to the effect of CME from 11 Oct, it will reach active levels on 15 Oct. The greater than 2 MeV electron flux at geosynchronous orbit will reach active level on 14-15 Oct.
